Crystal Biosciences-GenAxis selected the 1st cohort of 'Finding Bio'

Startups responsible for shaping the future of the biotech field in South Korea have been selected.
Crystal Biosciences and Genaxis announced that they selected six companies last month through the biotech and healthcare startup program 'Finding BIO.'
Finding BIO is a program jointly operated by CBS and Genaxis to discover and support promising startups in the biotech and healthcare industries.
A total of over 130 startups applied for the first cohort, and ultimately, six companies were selected, including two in digital healthcare, two in pharmaceuticals and diagnostics, one in pet healthcare, and one in regenerative medicine. The selected companies are:
CareDream (an AI-based smart caregiving vest, HUGgy, which aids in psychological stability)
InHandPlus (a digital medication management solution based on AI smartwatch technology)
Lophel Bio (a PD-L1 companion biomarker technology utilizing the characteristics of DRG2, a core of the PD-L1 recycling mechanism)
TwinPig BioLab (developing peptide drugs targeting TAM (tumor-associated macrophage) to regulate the tumor microenvironment and enhance the efficacy of anticancer agents)
Hplex (a platform for pet self-diagnosis services and healthcare solutions)
Medicos Biotech (tissue regeneration and anti-aging solutions utilizing spider silk protein and growth factors)
In the future, each company will receive various benefits, including direct investments of up to 1 billion won per company, IR consulting, mentoring by experts in research and development/business planning/execution, tailored mentoring for each stage of drug development, infrastructure utilization of CBS affiliates, mentoring by CBS employees, and support for subsequent investment attraction using demo days and domestic and international network of operating companies.
Son Mi-kyung, CEO of Genaxis, stated, "Based on our experience in government projects and various accelerating (startup planning) programs, we plan to support the early-stage startups selected for the first cohort of Finding BIO to achieve substantial growth."
